This book grew out of a burning desire in the author's soul to tell to others what he himself so longed to know a quarter of a century ago. When the truth dawned upon him in all its preciousness, it seemed to him that he could point out the way to receive the desired blessing of the Holy Spirit more fully and plainly than other authors had done. The result of his effort to do so is found in Part III. of this volume. Those who are convinced that there is such a blessing for them, and are in haste to receive it, may begin to read at Part III. There are others who are in doubt about the theological and Scriptural standing of the doctrine of the instantaneous "baptism with the Holy Ghost," with its consequent "holiness and power." To them Part I. and Part II. are earnestly commended. We believe that the arguments there advanced are built on, and formed out of, the impregnable Rock of God's Word. We have avoided all fanciful and doubtful and forced interpretations of Scripture. Passing by all texts of questionable bearing, there are enough left and in such profusion and variety of form and expression as to make the argument, to our mind, simply unanswerable.

Great book on entire sanctification!

Highly recommended reading. Please get this book if the Lord God is leading you to being filled with the Holy Spirit and sanctified fully by him. This book will help you understand thoroughly the doctrine of entire sanctification. It will help you wonder how you ever rejected this doctrine if you are one of those who fall into that category.

A must-read for every serious Christian

This book is awesome! It is the book I've been looking for the last 20 years. I have wanted something more in my Christian life, and I knew it was sanctification, but no one could tell me how to be sanctified.... This book showed me the way and I am so grateful that God helped me find it. Hills compiled this book from 40 other books that he had on the subject of sanctification in order to present in one concise book the way to be filled with God's Holy Spirit. It is presented from a non-denominational viewpoint, but there are a few things that may turn you off if you don't happen to be of Methodist or Wesleyan background. Don't let that keep you from reading this book! I suggest people read the first chapter and then skip over to chapter 12; that way they get the help from the book they need before they read the parts that may be controversial to some people. I've been buying copies of this book and giving them away because this book has the help American Christians need.

Good reference book on the holiness movement and theology

I read this book years ago and found A.M Hill to be a very accurate and logical reporter on the history and theology an important movement within christianity responsible for the spread of holiness teachings thruout rural southern areas, especially the appalachian mountains.
